Before You Book — Important Requirements

Please read the section that applies to the service you are booking. Failure to meet the requirements may prevent your driving lesson or road test from being completed.

Requirements for Every Customer

• Book the appointment under the name of the person taking the driving lesson or road test.
• Bring your current, valid physical Pennsylvania Learner’s Permit to every appointment.
• Photos or digital copies of the permit are not accepted.

Booking a Road Test

If you are booking a road test, review the requirements below before scheduling your appointment.

Using Your Own Vehicle:

If you are using your own vehicle for the road test, bring proof of current vehicle registration and insurance, along with the accompanying driver’s valid license.

Road Test Eligibility

• You must have a current and valid Pennsylvania Learner’s Permit.
• Your permit must be eligible for a road test on the date of your appointment.
• You must meet all applicable PennDOT road test eligibility requirements.

Permit Submission

• Send us a clear copy of your Pennsylvania Learner’s Permit and continue to booking online.

  • Include the full name of the person in the text.
  • The photo is for scheduling your test at our facility. Bring your original physical learner’s permit to your appointment.

After sending your permit, continue to online booking.

If You Are Under 18

• You must wait at least 6 months from the date your learner’s permit was issued before taking your road test.
• You must complete at least 65 hours of supervised driving, including 10 hours at night and 5 hours in poor weather.
• Review PennDOT’s distracted-driving educational materials before your road test. Your parent or guardian must certify this on Form DL-180C.
• Bring a completed DL-180C Parent or Guardian Certification Form.
• If your parent or guardian is not coming with you, the DL-180C must be notarized.

Where Your Road Test Begins

All road test appointments begin at our Allentown facility. Pickup is not provided for road test services.

• Road Test Only
• 30-Minute Parking Lesson + Road Test
• 90-Minute Lesson + Road Test
• Final lesson of a driving package that includes a road test

Permit Restrictions

• AW Driving School cannot administer road tests for medical retests, dual-control learner’s permits, or permits that require ignition interlock.
• These tests must be completed through PennDOT.

Booking Driving Lessons

If you are booking a driving lesson, review the information below before scheduling your appointment.

Student Responsibility

Before your first driving lesson, read the Pennsylvania Driver’s Manual and complete the review questions at the end of each chapter. You are responsible for learning road signs, traffic laws, and basic driving theory; practice test apps alone are not enough.

AW Driving School provides behind-the-wheel instruction to help you apply that knowledge on real roads. Students who need more time with the rules or driving skills may need additional lessons.

Pickup & Drop-Off

Pickup is included for regular driving lessons within our service area.

• Be ready at your scheduled pickup time.
• Pickup is not provided for road test appointments.
• Test-prep and road-test appointments begin at our Allentown facility.

Booking a Driving Lesson Package

For a lesson with pickup, select “My location” at Square checkout and enter the address for your first lesson. The final lesson and road test begin at our Allentown facility.

• When purchasing a multi-lesson package, book only your first driving lesson online.
• Our team will contact you to schedule the remaining lessons in your package.

Changes, Cancellations & Fees

• Cancellations or schedule changes must be requested at least 48 hours before your appointment.
• Late cancellations, changes made within 48 hours, or no-shows will result in a $60 fee.
• If your appointment cannot be completed because you do not have your valid physical learner’s permit, a $60 rescheduling fee will apply.

Choose the Correct Appointment Location

First lesson with pickup: At Square checkout, select “My location” and enter your pickup address. Square may preselect our Allentown office.

Road test or same-day lesson + road test: Select AW Driving School, 555 Union Blvd, Allentown. These appointments begin at our facility. The final lesson and road test in a package also begin there.
